The engineers and technicians at OMI pioneered the design and development of commercial automated robotic astronomical telescopes in the mid-1990s. OMI telescopes serve education and research programs that operate at observatory facilities in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia.
OMI played a major role in the advancement of large high-precision Dobsonian telescopes for the amateur telescope market by supplying hundreds of Newtonian mirrors for Obsession Telescopes. We developed our own specialized high-precision large-aperture Dobsonian design telescopes up to 1.2-meters (48 inches) in diameter.
Today we continue enhancing the capabilities and precision of our telescope systems by developing new systems using the latest technologies in materials, electronics, and software.
